In 2004 I co-authored a book titled “The Plot Thickens… Harry Potter Investigated By Fans for Fans”. The book was edited by the well-known Rowling researcher Galadriel Waters and published by Wizarding World Press. The authors included many administrators, moderators and select forum members from two Mugglenet forums.

“The Plot Thickens” was available from all major booksellers, including Borders, Amazon and Barnes and Noble.

A select few TPT authors, including myself, were asked to speak at Harry Potter conferences, such as "Accio" in the UK and "The Witching Hour" in Salem, MA. Regrettably, I was not able to make either trip.

As the final Harry Potter installment approached several TPT authors were asked to take part in Barnes and Noble’s on-line Harry Potter discussion forum. We were asked questions about our own theories and asked to analyze others’ theories.


“The Plot Thickens” is now out of print.


My essays, published under the name A. L. Carpenter, were:

“The Tyranny of the Death Eaters and the Spread of Corruption”
which examined the similarities of the Death Eaters and Voldemort with Nazi Germany and the similarities between the Order of the Phoenix and resistance groups such as Charter 77 and The White Rose.


“The Veil of Mystery” which examined parallels between Rowling’s work and mythology, Plato, Sophocles, Homer and Nietzsche.
